Is it just me, or has the entire year flown by? I swear we were just relishing in the kids' weddings and enjoying the heat of summer. Now winter is knocking at the door.
In between, I've been on the move - travelling for yoga and gathering inspiration from new places, people, and rhythms. These journeys reminded me how grounding simple practices can be, especially when life feels like it’s racing ahead.
That’s why I’m excited to announce my upcoming workshop . . .
This workshop is designed to help you transition into the colder months with strength and ease.
Float into Winter blends:
Restorative aerial yoga to release tension and invite softness
Wim Hof breathwork to activate circulation and raise blood pH
Floating meditation in the hammock for deep nervous system rest
An herbal tea ritual to support immunity and digestion

Winter invites us inward. By combining breath, rest, and ritual, we can honor the season not as something to endure, but as a time to cultivate resilience and immunity.
I’ve always resisted winter. I hate the cold and live for the warmer months, when sunlight and warmth feel effortless. For years, I’ve dreaded the first frost, the sharp winds, the darker days. The season felt heavy, something to endure and “get through” rather than embrace.
Breathwork became one way to meet the season differently.
I first encountered Wim Hof breathwork during yoga teacher training. At the time, I was struggling with meditation — my mind raced, my to‑do list shouted, and sitting still felt impossible. In fact, I wrote about this in Confessions From a Meditation Failure. Breathwork became the bridge I needed. It gave me a doorway into stillness and eventually transformed my meditation practice.
I quickly became a huge fan of Wim Hof breath. I still practice it regularly and often weave it into my yoga classes. I teach because it’s profoundly rewarding to watch students get it — to see the moment when the practice lands in their body and their nervous system responds. They walk out softer, lighter, often saying they’ve never felt so deeply rested. This is where the real power lies: not in theory, but in lived experience. Breathwork and meditation move beyond abstract ideas, becoming tangible experiences that ripple through the body, mind, and spirit. What feels like magic in the room is actually science in action.
The Science of Breath and Blood pH
Breath is more than oxygen in, carbon dioxide out. It’s a direct line into the chemistry of the body, influencing everything from energy levels to immune resilience.
Towards the end of September, a good friend and I took a nice long break from our full-time gigs for an aerial yoga retreat in Joshua Tree, a couple days in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area, and four days in Scottsdale. Here's a summary of that trip:

I just returned from eight inspiring days in St. Lucia where I had the honor of serving as the resident yoga teacher for the newly opened Secrets St. Lucia. Each morning at 9:15 and evening at 5:00, I guided classes overlooking the island’s incredible beauty. I'll be sharing my reflections soon, but for now, here are a couple sneak peeks from this unforgettable journey:

Quote I'm pondering . . .
Each season I find myself returning to words that spark reflection. Going forward, I’ll include a quote in my newsletters—something that’s been sitting with me, shaping how I think.
It’s the wanting of the dream that is satisfying, not the having.
