Here we go . . .

Floating Sound Bath

Friday, August 13th

5:30-6:15 pm

or

7-7:45 pm

I'm co-hosting this event with Anne Hajek. Anne is a friend, a fellow yoga teacher, and a sound healing master. My yoga room will be transformed into a sound bath oasis. The soothing tones of gongs, singing bowls, and chimes will envelop you as you relax in an aerial savasana. Enjoy the ultimate relaxation in your private cocoon.

NOTE: I offered a similar event back in June. That event filled up right away and I couldn't accommodate anyone on the wait list. Here's your chance to try this unique, magical, peaceful, restorative event!

$25 EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION AVAILABLE NOW!

Personal Update:

As they say, change is the only constant in life. I've always been one to embrace change. One of my favorite mottos: Evolve or Die.

I like fast-paced. Lots of action. Moving quick. Getting stuff done.

But lately, I haven't been feeling that so much. Is it me? Or is it circumstance?

Of course, not all change is easy. Or welcomed.

And sometimes, change comes at a rapid-fire pace.

Recently, we've experienced:

My husband's "layoff". He discovered and reported fraud and safety violations. Leadership was embarrassed and decided to push the issues under the rug. My husband was subsequently let go for having "trust issues" with his fellow team members.

The sudden death of my father-in-law. He had a massive stroke and never regained consciousness. After all the grandchildren had a chance to say goodbye, he was taken off life support. Five hours later he passed away with his wife and children by his side.

Caring for my mother-in-law. Providing support for her needs will be a full-time job for the foreseeable future.

The July 31 Omaha storm. It was the day after the funeral. We had just left my mother-in-law's house and arrived at the rental property. We had a new tenant arriving the next day. I was cleaning the floors in the lower level when the storm hit. We lost power. We watched the 90mph wind throw tree branches, fencing, and a trampoline across the yard. When the storm moved off, we assessed the damage - fences, siding, trees. We picked up shingles that had been ripped off the roof. It was getting dark, so there wasn't much we could do. We drove home, praying things wouldn't be as bad in our neighborhood. But they were. My front porch furniture and flower pots were all over the yard. Tree debris everywhere. Our new fence was crushed by a neighbor's tree, posts were cracked, flying debris had punched holes in the panels, and a corner was completely blown out. The trees I had purchased from the nursery for the backyard berm weren't visible. We found them buried under broken branches from the neighbor's tree. Our house had no power. I'm not a cryer over things like this. Instead, I prefer to get right to work. Why waste time crying when you could be FIXING IT? That night, I cried. I felt so defeated. And I didn't feel like myself for a full week . . . until our power was finally restored.

Omaha friends - we've been through it this year!

Frankly, I'm a bit weary of life feeling like the volatile, tornadic Omaha weather pattern. And I noticed I haven't been as hyped to tout my old "evolve or die" motto.

But as we head towards Labor Day, I'm o.k. with the thought of evolving into Fall. Summer 2024 has been one for the books and I'm ready to put it to bed.

As the season begins to change, I’m focusing on grounding myself and embracing the changes life has thrown our way. Of course, it hasn't been all bad. There have been many wonderful things happening in our family too. And I'm beginning to notice some positive things coming from the hardships. Meanwhile, I’ll continue teaching and practicing with a renewed sense of resilience, knowing that sometimes, the hardest changes can bring the greatest growth.

Until next time,

P.S. Don't forget to register now for early bird registration for the September floating rest events! I hope to see you very soon!
